Whatever... just as long as there’s still a hot hatch offered with obligatory manual transmission... and to be clear, an internal combustion engine.

Agreed.  I looked at a MS3, and a Mazda5, back in (I think) 2014.  Ended up with a Civic Si.  But if there had been a MS5, I would have been in that in a heartbeat.

Dodge and Plymouth Neon 1st gen (at least) had optional power windows. Front only. Looked to me like they were a self-contained unit that simply went where the crank otherwise would be.
