I don’t really have a horse in this race one way or the other, but it doesn’t sit right with me that they just outright ban the guy with zero evidence. Seems like this Hikaru dude has a lot of sway in the chess world and is using it to get rid of his competition.

Supposedly they’re bringing on the guy who turned MCC around.

The difference being that the original Demon’s Souls looked... a lot rougher than the original TLOU. There was a ton of room to improve the look and feel of things since it was a pretty low-budget affair early in the system’s life, whereas TLOU was developed with all of Sony’s resources at their disposal and still

I’m saying neither are fine, but one gets brought up a lot more often when it comes to large corporations handling gamers’ data.

Not in nearly the same way, no. When Microsoft buys a game studio people complain about exclusivity, they don’t complain about Microsoft’s complicity in the American Police State the way they do with... literally any Chinese company.

adding microtransactions to games that didn’t have them in the first place isn’t great.

See, I think that’s a much more interesting and compelling argument than a lot of what I’m seeing. Corporate control of these algorithms could, in fact, be a very big Thing that we’ll have to contend with - similar to Monsanto’s abuse of the patent system absolutely skullfucking farmers and muddying the waters around

Can these tools be used in bad ways to rip off and steal from artists? Yeah, absolutely. And that sucks, but it’s hardly some fault of the software. Art builds upon itself - Michael Kutsche’s art is also an amalgamation of different peoples’ styles. If these algorithms are straight-up copy/pasting chunks of someone’s

I’d love to get a curved monitor for gaming, but I’ve also been hesitant because I do a lot of art/design stuff that requires me to, y’know... be able to tell when lines are straight. I know your brain apparently gets used to it, but even slight distortion is a non-starter for that stuff.

Yeah this is... exactly on-par with Spider-Man 2018, Guardians of the Galaxy, or pretty much any highly-rated AAA game from the last 5 years.

It’s so strange to copy something like this so wholesale that you put your own job at risk? That sounds unlikely to me.

Ranking of Kings is by far the most slept-on show of the year for me. The name makes it sound like some generic battle shonen but it’s literally the furthest thing from that. The art style makes it seem like some cutesy, childish homage to 80s anime with obvious characters and motifs, but it’s also the furthest thing

absolutely do not understand why the expansion is so barebones

If you remove the shitty crypto stuff, isn’t that kind of just... exactly what Early Access is?

It’s absolutely baffling. Like, I want Infinite to be the best game it can be. I still think Halo has a lot to offer that its contemporaries don’t, and some of the “controversy” around this game is, in my opinion, pretty overblown (mostly the nitpicking from diehards who won’t accept anything that’s not just Reach 2.0)

That’s correct. According to an AMA from a few years ago, Icefrog was also involved in HoN during the very early stages.

Ctrl+F “Moebin’ Time”

but at some point it’s gotta make it to PC right?

Yeah that’s about where I’m at too. Not really too excited (but also not too worried either) because I know it’s not gonna be the main focus. Might be a neat distraction from getting bodied online but doubt I’ll spend any real time in it.

Ope, now I feel dumb!
