Gotta hard disagree with the title there, imo Silksong is by far the standout game in that lineup. Not a new announcement but the fact that we’re actually starting to get news on it has me more hyped for a game than I’ve been in years.

Yeah it was definitely a double-edged sword. I get what they were trying to do but in my experience it just lead to toxic players accusing you of things with you having no actual way to back yourself up/show proof that you weren’t feeding.

ok shill

twitch is a video game streaming platform

The Aztec-inspired dungeon? Yeah, that one was actually pretty neato! Don’t get me wrong, I’m enjoying it so far but as a former BDO player I know what’s coming - I just think a lot of people are going to be disappointed if this is their first experience with the genre (because Korean MMOs are, imo, very much distinct

Yeah. Here’s where all the new players gushing about Lost Ark come to realize it’s... yet another generic Korean MMO, and not the Diablo killer that everyone wants it to be.

There are Canadian truckers protesting in California?

On top of what others have said, they also get Bungie’s talent pool, expertise, and in-house software.

Yeah, I don’t really understand the obsession with the Battlepass. Customizing your Spartan is really fun (obviously could be better, but that discussion’s been done to death by now), but I put thousands of hours into Halo before that stuff really had a progression system behind it and will probably continue to do so.

Not necessarily, even the studio leads have to answer to the publisher. It’s entirely possible (probable, imo, given some of the cryptic tweets by 343 employees over the last 2 months) that even the 343 leads didn’t want this, but were strong-armed by Microsoft into making the game as profitable as possible.

The Disruptor absolutely shreds shields though. If you’re trying to get a kill with the whole clip then yeah it sucks, but it pretty much takes the Plasma Pistol’s old spot in the noob combo

I’d love to see a channel that’s just someone with a 5 pixel facecam in the corner just rebroadcasting the most popular streamers. I truly wonder what the sentiment around this type of content would be like if the shoe were on the other foot.

The problem with that logic is that these obscenely long game lengths often come at the cost of interesting and unique content as the games are designed around generic, procedurally-generated sidequests. Everything from the gameplay mechanics and progression systems to the world map itself has to be tailored around

It’s basically the same thing but, well... wireless. I literally can’t tell the difference between AirLink and using the USB cable, but your mileage may (will definitely) vary depending on things like the bandwidth of your router, how many other devices you have on wifi, how many walls are between your router and VR

Military simulators are not the same thing as games depicting massacres in civilian contexts

and ignoring the differing contexts of military or domestic violence.

Reading between the lines of some of the 343 employees’ tweets, it sounds like they were well aware but strongarmed by Microsoft into implementing it this way to put more emphasis on the paid Battlepass.

The first game was excellent but I don’t know if I’d call it slept on. It got a few GOTY awards from larger outlets, has overwhelmingly positive user reviews and is largely responsible for introducing a whole new generation of gamers to the 40k universe.
