i sincerely hope they work towards actually changing the way they approach these things in the future.

Holy shit, not a great week for EG - they also just fired a very prominent Dota 2 caster after some really disgusting news about him came to light (This article covers some of the basics but it appears to have been written before the full extent of it was revealed, that’s not even the worst of it)

at least when you do, it’s cut and dry.

Highly depends on the setup, a lot of the cheaper HDR displays have pitifully few lighting zones. There’s a lot of marketing fuckery around that term because nothing in the HDR spec - for either HDR10 or Dolby Vision - actually sets standard for hardware. It’s a lot like how in the early days of HD you’d see them slap

Sorry, those were two unrelated comments - the author has previously defended Japanese war crimes on social media and said he idolizes a Japanese general who was at the center of many of them. AoT obviously doesn’t say anything about that directly.

Yeah I tapped out when I got curious after S2 and read up on the manga, only to learn that it’s basically just ultranationalist propaganda. Apparently the author has some really twisted views on the Sino-Japanese war.

I feel you, the grind gets worse every year as they keep pushing people to buy levels so they can break prize pool records. It’s frustrating, and like you I don’t have the time I once did to invest into Dota - these days I mostly just pop in for a round or two of Turbo every few nights.

They always have a sale near the end anyway, only suckers buy their levels upfront.

Yeah this is definitely a “careful what you wish for” scenario, in 6 months a lot of the people lauding this move are going to be absolutely furious that it exists.

Why sit chair when rock just as good? Chair no science, rock fine. Can bash jaguar skull too.

Oh yeah, when you look at how much people are willing to drop on sofas and mattresses and other furniture that they probably spend half as much time using it’s a great deal. Just kinda awkward to recommend the pricier options, especially in the current climate.

Nothing wrong with hot pink, but the entire “gaming chair” industry is a complete racket. The vast majority of them are made from the exact same factory surplus materials you’d find in a $60 office chair from Staples, but they sew in some angular lines and slap on some “gamer aesthetic” logos and suddenly it costs

Fair enough, that’s probably on me for not reading thoroughly.

I don’t have a horse in the race, but this will no doubt push Valve to adopt a similar policy for fear of losing players

Yeah this is surreal, never would’ve expected 322 from these guys. I think it’s worth noting that there have been some controversies with the way the CDA has been run in the past -probably worth waiting for more concrete details before casting judgement, but this doesn’t look great.

Halo is definitely slow, but I’d say it’s less about it aging and more just being a very different kind of game. Not quite an arena shooter like Quake or UT, but not quite as tactical and deliberate as something like Counter-Strike - it’s somewhere inbetween, with a little bit of DNA from everything.

I find myself leaning more towards this. What happened in Lethbridge fucking sucks and we should take every step to make things right with the victim, but it’s not as simple as “idiot cop beats up cosplayer.” Yes, we have issues with police brutality just like our neighbors to the south, but it’s absolutely not a

To be fair, from everything I’ve seen the team working on this port are genuinely passionate about it. It’s not just a cashgrab, so I wouldn’t entirely throw out the possibility of crossplay down the line - just a lot of moving parts to figure out right now.

It is, but this is actually referring to the next Living Story chapter. The actual expansion is way further down the line, I don’t think they’ve said much about it aside from that it’s in the works for next year.

That’s almost definitely what would happen, because it’s exactly what happened with HOTS. They realized their esports league for that was bleeding money, so they abandoned the entire game.
