Videogames and “geeky” things have always had vitriol, homophobia, sexism, racism, and shitty people. You just never noticed because the hate was targeted at what were, from your perspective, outsiders.

This. As someone who follows pro and semi-pro Dota, there has never been a single scandal in the history of the game as big and damning as what we’ve seen from OWL, let alone several over the course of a few months.
I’m thinking she’s an LMD that Hale either reprogrammed to hunt SHIELD, or one that somehow survived and got corrupted at the end of last season - remember all the Daisy LMDs? Could explain the fixation on her specifically.
I do love AoS’ very occasional and extremely subtle anti-Trump subtweets.
I’m not criticizing Kotaku or Ethan for covering this story - on the contrary, I’m glad this article exists.
While I certainly understand that the way videogames “glorify” violence can make people uncomfortable, and there is absolutely some stuff worth unpacking there, this strikes me as completely ass-backwards.
Completely different purpose, though. DICE is an awards show for developers to recognize the work and talent of their peers, the VGAs and other shows are purely marketing events.
It’s also a shooter where, frankly, you don’t need to be very good at actually killing in order to do well.
Very informative, thanks for clearing that up!
I don’t think mental illness is more prominent, we’re just getting better at diagnosing it and more aware (and compassionate, even!) towards those who suffer from it.
Also worth noting that the caloric content listed on foods isn’t an accurate measurement, and can be ±200 calories off depending on what it is. Same. I begrudgingly bought into their weird Early Access scheme because of a friend, there were some really glaring issues but I actually found the core idea of Fortnite intriguing. Sad to see it’s been all but abandoned in favor of this lame flavor-of-the-month trendchasing mode. :|
TBH the only time I’ve ever seen dudes stream topless is when they’re protesting Twitch’s hypocrisy with regard to rule enforcement.
But that’s far too logical. What are clickbait sites and self-righteous technophobes going to complain about, then, if not for how horrible Facebook is for failing to protect them from their own shitty circle of family and friends?
But that was the Enoch from the past. He didn’t go through the Monolith but instead took the long way around like Fitz.
If this universe doesn’t just disappear if and when S.H.I.E.L.D. is successful at stopping the earth’s destruction
It’s even crazier because a lot of the UX problems in GTAO were solved by RDR like 3 years earlier. All of the co-op content was actually out there in the world, you didn’t have to load into some ridiculous sub-system just to access them.
I’m not religious in the slightest but grew up going to Catholic school, and yeah, I always just assumed “In all thy sons command” was a religious reference.
