The final hi-speed clip is at 9:35 and it's a water-filled ping pong ball hitting a sheet metal plate.

If you watch the explosion scene you can see Tom falling into the water just as the bridge explodes. I didn't even notice it the first time I watched the episode. It's tough to spot unless you're looking for it and he never says, "I jumped in the water before the bridge went BOOM." or anything.
