Actually, I'm a HUGE SCII enthusiast...but honestly, Blizzcon is totally full of WoW kids, there's no ignoring that beast of a game. I'm sure it's a balancing act for the streamers to please everyone. With that said, of course I would love to see the tournament take more of a front seat!

While I agree that eSports is an important facet of Blizzcon, I can understand how it would be difficult to balance all the stuff going on around the convention. Trust me, as a one-time attendee, there is a LOT of stuff to be seen. Also, you can usually download the replays the following monday, or hear the shoutcasts

@DrDankstone: I watched the re-run early this morning, and felt the same way. She comes off as nutso...too eccentric to be doing press tours like this.

@HumanRainDelay: I think you're absolutely right about the western audience. I'm not saying they should necessarily strip the franchise of its tradition, but I do think quite a bit of thought needs to go into the future of these games.

@Gabriella Creighton: Because I definitely said people 'hate' it. All I said is that interest is not as high as it used to be...and that's true, certainly in the west.

@Gabriella Creighton: Sorry I didn't get a well written report on the numbers. I'll have it on your desk by monday.

@HumanRainDelay: But to die by Wada's side, would not be such a heavenly way to die...

While still a strong brand, It's hard to refute that the franchise has not gotten stale. FF14 aside, a lot of players have lost interest and have moved on to other games. I think it's time for Square Enix to re-evaluate the franchise, artistically speaking.

It's cool that Visceral not only did this, but totally has their ear to the ground...enough to find a twitter post like this.

@The Other White Meat: You should educate yourself a little more on the situation before talking about player-greed. It's the franchise owners that are looking for more money. It's not a players union strike.

@coddan: Ha, I had no idea DJ Wheat had a child. He looks incredibly young.

She's been on my shit list after that awful music thing she tried. Leave Tom Waits alone.

@The5thElephant: I am part of society, but it still isn't my job. I'm not saying pay every poor sap off the street, but I do think certain artists deserve to be paid. That's all.

@The5thElephant: Well that depends on how important you deem art. I'm happy to financially support good artists. In the form of seeing them live, buying records, etc etc. I never said it was society's job...

@meatbag_pussrocket: Physical distribution will only be handled if someone wants to put out the record. e-stuff will absolutely be not only in the pipeline, but the forefront. When I said financing, I meant, paying for the actual thing to get recorded, and paying a band in Nashville to play the tunes. Live, in a room.

Like Kyle said, it's easy to take such a radical standpoint when you're a fucking bazillionaire. Some artists are ONLY capable of doing that one thing, and I think it would be a terrible shame for them to not be able to dedicate their life to making art 24/7 instead of working a god damn 9-5 and doing it part time.

@Creighton Linza: I'm well aware it's separate, but my point is that they obviously have the resources. It's still Microsoft.

Why the hell doesn't Microsoft do this? You'd think that the company that made Windows would have the tools in place to do such a thing...especially now that they upped their yearly fee for XBL. Kudos to Sony on this one.

Umbrella....always up to no good.

@MrWaffles: I think that's an important point. If theyre literally going to be selling PS3 games on the thing, it needs integration with the PS3. With that said, who wants to buy two copies of Black Ops just so they can play it on the NGP? Only the most hardcore players with a few hundred bucks to spare. Quite a
