What is the value of these credits? I mean...does it buy me a fucktonne of upgrades (or whatever they're for), or does it get me halfway to buying one upgrade?

It's perfectly possible to play Burial at Sea (at least the first episode) and understand it without having completed the first game. Especially if I'm correct in my assertion that the Rapture we see in the dlc isn't the same as the one from the first and second games.
