What I love about The Secret History is how effectively it manipulates your sympathies. By the point of Bunny’s murder, you’ve fine to feel that it’s perfectly reasonable; that of course he needs to be killed... and then later your feelings are flipped back and it’s recognisable as an awful thing.

There is a particular oddness to being really pregnant and therefore stocking up on things in a way everyone would normally consider perfectly ordinary and reasonable as a precursor to a big life change that will keep you at home for a while, at the same time as it becomes socially much less acceptable to stock up on…

The two previous seasons (the BBC ones) were also awesome. Different presenter and different female judge, but Keith was there and burst into tears at regular intervals, and the format and location were the same. I was so excited when it got picked up by Channel 4!
