The first film was brutally sparse in terms of how much it left out - which I struggled with somewhat on first viewing although the more I think about it the more I understand the choices made. So I'll be interested to see what makes the cut in this one.

I know everyone hates Thor 2 but I agree that it was absolutely the point where I properly noticed Tom Hiddleston. I’ve seen him on stage several times since and always been impressed so thanks, The Dark World!

See, I would take brutality cop because I can absolutely foresee post-apocalyptic scenarios in which having someone around who can handle a bit of brutality would be a benefit. Not saying I approve of him but on balance I’d take the chance. To quote Gamorra, if he ends up being evil we’ll just kill him.

I’m not 100% sure how it works in the US but certainly where I am, fertility clinics are very, very rigid (appropriately so) about consent being in place for gametes to be used.

It now turns out there's a whole 'nother son we didn't know about, so possibly it's that one?

I’m so glad it's not just me

And I am richly enjoying watching the whole of Twitter call bullshit on it. Like, yes, I can see what he was going for, but it's all so blatant and grubby and the more he tries to trash her, the more it's all coming back on him.

I find Messiah incredibly dull. I love Dune; Children is quite fun; God Emperor is bananaballs; but Dune Messiah just feels like barely tolerable hanging around, to me.

I just couldn’t be arsed with them anymore after the Discovery thing. I couldn’t persuade my TV to download Pluto, and I didn’t really see why I should go out of my way for them when they clearly didn’t give a crap, so I pretty much gave up on Star Trek in any form at that point.

If you think this is how she actually told him she’s pregnant, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you...

This. And I say it as someone who gave birth to a double-donor conceived child at 43, because I was fortunate enough to (just about) be able to afford to do so.

Level 9, 5 high!

Come now, people, did we learn NOTHING from The Day of the Triffids?

She became pregnant with sextuplets after medicated IUI. It’s absolutely someone’s ‘fault’; it’s most likely the outcome of insufficient monitoring and/or going ahead even while knowing that the number of follicles developing was higher than optimal.

I absolutely read it that Shuri is Black Panther but M'Baku is king.

UK student loans - whilst a point of contention in their own right - are so much less fucked up than US ones. Yes, there’s interest, but income-contingent repayments mean your repayments are low (or nonexistent) if you aren’t earning much, which takes away a lot of the stress of worrying about how you’ll manage to pay

Deftly’, maybe?

Yeah. You only open with that if ultimately it’s not what it looks like. And we don’t see any of it happen; all we actually know is there was a lot of screaming, a bunch of people died, and Eleven used her powers at some point.

Given that scarabs main thing is pushing giant balls of dung around, I think we can all be grateful her powers aren't that...

Quite aside from the general awesomeness of the first film boding really well for more, I’m very excited for a pregnant Spider-Person. Back when everyone was posting their ‘spidersona’ (and I was having lots and lots of fertility treatment), I couldn’t resist drawing one... (badly).
