God bless Snoop Dogg/Lion.

Yeah, I think this article missed that a lot of the judginess surrounding theme weddings is about the special snowflake-ness of it all. It seems to think that people are judging the geek aspect of it (i.e., the easiest bit to defend) rather than the attention-seeking aspect of it. Like, most weddings just ask that

This would be cute but it annoys me the author mocks other people's weddings ("whoops, she's pregnant" or "might as well") and then has a fucking Star Trek themed wedding. Sorry kiddo, your wedding isn't better than anyone else's.

I am divided on themed weddings. Yes, on the one hand, it's your day, do what you wanna do, etc. If Star Wars/Star Trek/Doctor Who is the soundtrack to your love, I get it. But I do think they put a weird burden on guests that "traditional weddings" don't. Like, I gotta go get a Games of Thrones-themed costume in

this article feels excessively aggressive.

Using a bat'leth when you're not even Klingon? That's Cultural Appropriation and that's not okay!

I get the defensiveness too-my older sis is getting some pushback from the Moms about her Star Wars elements and I keep telling them to shut it as it is her wedding, not theirs.

Yeah, I already said it in another comment, but she was being really snobby about other people's weddings, and other couples in general. The main point of a wedding is just to get married. You don't have to make it some big snowflake event if you don't want to. It's like some people don't understand that not everyone

I'm glad you said that. I don't have much of an opinion either way about anyone's wedding choices, traditional or not, but I was really taken aback by how snotty this author was being.

This sentence actually irked me. It strikes me as misogynistic for some reason. I think because it has the tone of " you should have been more careful, now she's stuck with that loser" and the smug tone that flat out says 'these people are settling'. She's a special nerdy snowflake that can incorporate a cultural

Why provide the link? Serves no purpose.

Thanks, Jane. This is why Jezebel needs a proper science writer. Or at least someone who will take a minute to link to something like that NBC article.

anybody have a screencap of the 2nd sign in Bomanis tweet? He deleted it.

It's okay, they usually don't cover it until 6th grade.

Oklahoma State and Florida State students...? Nope, they were looked down upon by paste eaters.

They should get him a kiddie pool and fill it with mint sauce.

It sounds like we were blessed with similar cats. :) Killer kittys are a handful.
