Comic Con is not strictly an American audience, for one thing. For another, it went no farther than that room. It's not as though the entire country gets a free go at it before the UK. It just doesn't seem worth all the fuss. You guys will get the full trailer before anyone else anyway.

Normally I wouldn't be opposed to considering something like this (if the story warranted it and not just stunt casting), but the entitled whining from people who think the Doctor should be a woman just for the sake of it have turned me right off the idea. New character? Sure. The Doctor? Nope.
