Good post, thanks for the insight. I never really thought of it as 'holding out' to keep other parts of their business afloat but that's what they did it sounds like. Too bad.

Got an X100. I like it. It behaves wonky at times. Turned out that some SD cards didn't work as well as others. If you format the card on a Mac it has trouble turning on (the cam) with the card in it since it is trying to read the OSX files that get dropped onto the disk when you mount it in OSX. Formatting the card

Haha... :)

Why is that statue Tebowing?

It's interesting the part that I thought would get more traction, A), didn't get any at all. I am with you though. Some SEC virgin cheerleader with a diagram like this made by some fraternity? The Jez readers would be demanding the fraternity get shut down.

I believe it's now either 'Chad' or 'Scro'.

Well, guys tend to mumble and they are sorry about that.

"But if we could just tax it!" - every hippie/stoner I have ever had a conversation with at a bar.

Bingo. The environment the consumer put the laptop in created the failure.

They could fish-eye it maybe... that would be more appealing to folks I would guess.

It would cover more of the screen, is my guess.

How common is it (or does it happen ever) that employers or third-party agencies provide supplemental insurance above and beyond the standard care? The reason I ask is that when working in the hotel industry we would get ill/sick Canadians constantly staying at the hotels getting hips, cancer-care, etc. To the point

Ah, I see. I was trying to play off what you wrote - I thought you were making a joke.

Yah, she probably could have just walked into the job of Surgeon General if she was a hot white chick.

That sucks. I bet if there wasn't a crazy person ratting you out I bet you could have kept using it. It's rare not to see electronic devices on the plane, once it gets flying...

I am pretty sure that I read (watched? Myth Busters?) that consumer devices don't really effect a planes ability to fly safely (not a single instrument was even affected if I remember right).

The nerds over at Gizmodo (hugs, guys!) had something recently about a petition being pushed around to get the federal gov to allow phones, ipads, etc to work in 'airplane mode' while on the tarmac and taxi-ing (is that a word?). Not sure it's going to happen.

Learn your two-letter and three-letter words. Play it tight and pack your words in. Play the board and not words you 'see' in your tray. Play defense and eat a TW, DW or TL score with shitty points rather than let your opponent get the TW, DW, and TL themselves. You can do it!

Apple did it first!
