What I learned about myself is, if it’s edible, it’s soup. If it’s not going to kill the bastards, they can choke it down. I would also have accepted most jello molds and a block of ice with bits in it.

I was feeling the city/colony builder itch this week and started a new save of Rimworld, so I will probably cross the 300 hour mark on that one this weekend or early next week. Might dive into PUBG and/or Rocket League a bit, too.

You will die, especially when you’re learning, and occasionally you’ll get some especially bad RNG, but once you have the hang of it, it’s not that hard. Mainly you just have to learn to not take chances and run when you have to.

Gotta wonder what hurts more: getting punched in the face, or being known as “Old Man Punched in Face.”

People way over-estimate the cost savings of digital vs. physical, especially in cases where the publisher is still producing any physical copies. If society as a whole retooled to eliminate physical copies of media, then there would be serious conservation of resources. While we’re doing both, the costs of

I feel the same about DRM in media that have transitioned to digital (so, not so much video games). Especially in the early stages, it was obvious way more effort was going into locking down the product and even discouraging digital sales than went into usability. Using resources to make a product worse is not a good

I’m not too susceptible to the gambling bug, either, but obviously some people really, really are. And most people can be roped into it under the right circumstances.

Kind of glad to see a city builder going a different direction than medieval or space.

TWoM never appealed to me just because of the side-scrolling, but I’ve been craving a new city builder, and this game is looking sweet so far. The vibe reminds me a bit of Sunless Sea - a Fallen London city builder would be magnificent.

Although racial colorblindness is a fictional hypothesis that resides only in white brains,

Stop engaging.

Did you ungrey him? I hope you learned your lesson.

What white people call themselves, and especially people who won’t acknowledge they’re white supremacist sympathizers, is “American.” It’s the most basic element of white privilege: being normal. The default. Not having to worry about it. Getting those people to recognize that they are not and never were the only

What you’re hearing is the sound of game consoles being chucked into dumpsters by parents all across the Bible Belt.

Not really? I mean sure, for some people, but the larger part of the appeal is the base game. It’s not mod-driven to the extent of something like Minecraft or Rimworld, AFAIK.

At least they’re half-assed self aware. So many people can’t even entertain the idea that the might be racist because they’re convinced their Social Darwinism is reality. Of course you BELIEVE your racist bullshit: definition of a racist!

The article only missed the mark a little: watching SOA may be fine, but Sons of Anarchy apparel is definitely a danger sign. Also, a sign that the show went right over their head. It’s a tragedy; you don’t celebrate or emulate the protagonist of a tragedy.

As a white guy who grew up in the woods, I find it even more WTF that people from actual rural areas call Nashville pop music “country.” I’ve been to Nashville, and there aren’t a lot of cows or trees. Even growing up in that culture, though, I do tend to assume country fan more than likely means racist.

He was pissing me off through much of the first episode, and then it kind of clicked that he was perfect for the part. The character basically was Jaden Smith.
