An autonomous car would potentially be an ally in this situation. Presumably it would have biometric locks at the very least, and could probably place an emergency call and provide her location to police.

Super common. Video games are an aspect of / variation on the “party parents” who treat their kids like an especially needy and annoying member of their party crew.

Aw, isn’t it darling when they learn sarcasm?

Fetishes are common enough, but it’s a hell of a stretch to stay “everybody has some kind of kink.” People raised with accurate information about sex and no particular taboos are often quite satisfied with plain ol’ pokey-pokey.

Yeah, my memories of Castlevania are vague at best and “animated Game of Thrones” only sweetened the pot a little, but when I saw Ellis’ name on the opening credits, I perked right up. Granted, Ellis takes all paying work and the results vary, but it’s always interesting at least.

Just to throw in my tuppence, those Ex Officios are a lousy set of drawers. For day-to-day, they’re less comfortable than cotton Hanes, and for workouts and physically strenuous days, I got a 2-pack of Adidas synthetics for less that were much better.

I looked at that one, too, and what made it a no-go is that it’s not DRM-compliant with 4k movies. You can’t watch 4k Netflix or other media on it, so unless you want it strictly as a work and/or gaming station, and/or you’re getting your 4k content illicitly, it’s not much good.

I have no idea what you think you’re saying. Any game with dedicated servers, every one of those servers represents someone hosting it and, if there’s any activity at all, a community of people playing on it. More servers indicates more potential mods, not fewer to go around. Match-based games are a different story

I’ll take banning paying customers who set out to ruin the game for everyone else, thanks. If the script kiddies are such hax0rs, they can get the game running on their own free-for-all servers, at which point they’ll discover that when everyone is cheating, all you have is a broken game.

Meh. Cheating through mod powers and/or bad moderation is not an issue on nearly the scale of script cheating, and it’s what separates good servers from bad. I have landed on servers with obvious admin drama and just noped out of there, but I’ve also seen a lot more baseless accusations of mod injustice than I’ve seen

This guy reminds me of someone I knew (through one of his victims) who flamed out at least as spectacularly and took his own life in prison. I would agree he was and this perp likely is beyond diagnosis or treatment, but AmericaDied has a point that dehumanizing these people (pedophiles, domestic abusers, sexual

It’s a start. In my experience, the only thing that keeps cheaters in check on multiplayer servers (at least for building/survival games) is a staff of dedicated moderators. If there aren’t mods on almost 24/7, script kiddies can do a lot of damage in a short amount of time. The automated tools are important, too, but

There’s really no standard, and you’ll hear different things from different people on both sides of the register. As someone who worked in a variety of restaurants throughout my 20s, I do not tip by default on carryout for one or two people. If I have a good interaction with the server or any additional service is

I have this crazy philosophy of assessing a game based on all the information available. Whether or not it is “finished” ranks somewhere around 5th or 6th in consideration. Most games I’ve put more than 100 hours into in the last five years have been Early Access, and I have my doubts they’ll ever shed that status.

A lot of people are passionately opposed to the words “Early Access.” Once the words “Early Access” no longer appear on the Steam page, it’s a whole different game.

That “try and” in the lede rang out to me like someone kicking the side of a dumpster with a body in it. It’s not strictly wrong, but it’s bad. “Try to” is the less-dumb phrasing, but I’d take arch-grammarian Yoda’s advice and leave “try” out altogether.

Unless you took advantage of the full week of people streaming it like crazy from the PS4 release to form realistic expectations and proceeded to enjoy the game for what it is. I can’t say it became an obsession or anything, but I got my money’s worth, especially with the post-release content. Maybe I was just

The updates have added some structure, with quests to outfit your base or freighter. You can run through those in 15-20 hours. Together with the various paths to ship upgrades and learning languages, it’s a reasonable amount of structure. Players have also cobbled together a GPS system and established “civs” of a

Or gooey ducks.

I’ve been doing pretty well with the 2 credits a month plan 9 months per year (you can freeze for 3 months each year). They do pile up, but sooner or later a deal comes around and/or I get into a new series and unload them. Last year I got the whole Foreigner series (18 and counting) at 2-for-1. I still get at least
