Not that I would actually use this to save money, but the idea of someone coming and cooking fancy meals once in a while sounds super nice. How do I go about finding someone like this? Where do I search?

Can we get an article going over the best “dumb” (good sounding) speakers to plug into these tiny “smart” speakers? I have a few echo dots, but I’d love to buy a single speaker that just has a headphone jack input, a power cord, and a volume dial. It would be great to see some choices for that.

As a fellow Houstonian, I can’t believe they played that game during the day. Yesterday was a terrible combination of triple digit weather and incredible humidity. Summer weather like that is understandable around here though.

My reaction also! GTA:O seems a lot more fun now.

I looked through the comments but couldn’t find any automatic trash cans. I have this one and love it! The reviews seem to be pessimistic about it, but mine rarely need new batteries (about 8 months or more) and it works perfectly all the time. It’s a good size that doesn’t need the simplehuman bags. Has holes on the

Thank you for posting this! I needed a push to do this. I've had a weird problem with the chrome "waiting for cache" bug. No one seems to know how to fix it and it's the worst bug in the world. Even on my overpowered desktop with chrome on an internal SSD, the "waiting for cache" bug freezes MY ENTIRE SYSTEM for 30

I find it funny how Lifehacker is always so timely with it's articles since I just started working out with my coworkers yesterday. I do wish this was posted before then though, I think I pulled a muscle. =(

I think the only thing holding me back from the 360 is the battery life. Unfortunately, all of the reviews say different things. Is it as bad as they make it sound? Will the battery last all day if "ambient mode" is turned off? I would think having the screen on all the time is a huge battery killer. The reviews don't

" I mean, jesus you're spending around 10k on entertainment and you want to LEAVE?"

I don't understand that reasoning. Vacation days are there to be used. I know I asked for vacation within a couple months of starting. I had already established that I'm well worth what they pay me and vacation days are just another benefit to be used. My boss didn't even hesitate to say "go for it". Good employees

What do you use to control the garage and the sprinklers? That sounds really useful!

OpenMic+ is made specifically to do that. Eric only mentions it as a way to make your phone always listen for "Ok, Google", but that really does drain battery. What he didn't mention is that OpenMic+ has plenty of options to allow you to control when your phone listens, including options to listen only when the screen

I don't have a suggestion, but I just wanted to say that I love these posts! This lets the readers (who always have awesome things to say) put out their own ideas along with the normal, great, Lifehacker posts.

I'm happy to hear that. The update definitely adds a more premium feel to the app. It feels a lot smoother to switch between remotes and the, now, transparent overlay for the mouse control is much nicer.

I agree that it's not necessary, but it really does make a difference when the design looks and feels better. There's always room for improvement. Even though I don't use pinterest, I have to admit that I like to play around with it on my wife's phone every now and then. It just feels so nice and fluid.

I got the update late last week and it is much nicer than I thought it would be. The design is more in line with Google's apps, but I wonder if they'll update again soon when the newer "Material design" comes out. I'm not getting my hopes up if it's taken the devs this long to get in line with this, already old,

I'll definitely keep that in mind! I'm still trying to work out how the transition will work. I really hope I don't lose my number too.

I guess I'm one of the few using the integration with Sprint. I love it though. Unfortunately, Sprint is getting a little too expensive for the sparse coverage. I was thinking of going all the way and porting my number to Gvoice completely in a couple months so I could keep it. I use Tasker to change Gvoice settings

When I was looking for a job after graduating (Mechanical Engineering), I had already moved back in with my parents and was applying online and responding to postings. I wanted a job in the same city and applying online and such wasn't working. My dad eventually convinced (read: forced) me to wear some nice business

About a month ago I noticed that the WeMo switches were heavily discounted at my local Walmart in the tech clearance section. I think it was a recall because of the security flaw (people can control your lights outside your network) that was found. I got a bunch of switches and the kits with the motion sensors too for
