John McKay coached the Bucs during a 26 game losing streak. Here are some of his best moments:

A couple of years ago, I was frequently under fire from a few of the subjects I was writing on/off about. There was one instance, specifically, where the guy was swearing that the interactions I was certain were with him were actually with someone else. After publicly stating that he wasn’t going to seek litigation,

Simple kindnesses like the ones you and others are recounting about Tommy here get paid forward in ways we might never even realize. During a dark time for me, a writer whose work means the world to me and who I didn’t even know particularly well told me “you’re doing fine and will continue doing fine.”

Such a small

I’m heartbroken, too.

This is not true. Yes, half of the half million plus hispanic population is Cuban. The second largest groups, however, are the Colombian and Central American populations, where soccer is king. There is a very significant Peruvian and Argentinian and Venezuelan populations as well. Then, there is the very robust

My mom would say, “Let’s Go!” just once if we were going somewhere fun then just leave us if we didn’t listen. She would go a few blocks to Dairy Queen to get a blizzard then come back and tell us the trip’s been canceled.

My fellow Bama homers keep telling me he’s here for good. I think they’re delusional. My take on Saban has always been “he whipped us back into shape, appreciate the seasons and championships we get with him because he is DEFINITELY bailing the second someone throws more money at him than we are.”

First off, thanks for the all caps and for the lesson. Much appreciated.

You post is so riddled with factual and conceptual errors that it deserves some kind of award for overall wrongness.

They also considered instituting a ban on hitting women, but they didn't want to go overboard.

There’s a difference between a torn ACL and something structurally wrong. Foot problems for 7 footers don't go away.

Field sobriety tests are voluntary and the officer can only ask you to perform them but can't force you to do them. I don’t know of a single state in which there is a penalty for refusing them, and you cannot be arrested solely for refusing them. SFST (Standardized Field Sobriety Test) are considered a search in most

Hands at 10 and 2 and DO NOT refuse to blow (the breathalyzer or the cop)

The bigger question aught to be whether you can refuse a field sobriety test.

But what do you do when the officer administers the Field Smugness Test?

I’ve moved from DC to Long Beach, Long Beach to Tuscaloosa, and then from T-Town to Salt Lake City. Regardless if your move is comped by your new employer or not (and as I’ve learned, their contributions may not cover all of it), there’s some issues I have with the author here, and some pointers I think are important.

I’d put a caveat on that—talk therapy with no defined goal and end date is a scam. A good therapist will help you define goals, develop a timeline for meeting them, and frankly will push you out of the nest if things linger to the point where it’s clear they’re not helping.

This. My current job is at a very family-culture type place, and while there ARE nice things about that, there’s also definitely a dark side of being “like family.” I’m coming to kind of hate it. Can’t we all just be collegial coworkers, be professional, and get stuff done like adults?
