That belt buckle was made from the shattered knees of only the finest defensive backs in the league.

Thierry Henry doesn't understand why no one is protesting that Shuler made the game winning shot with his hands.

@snoop-a-loop: right there with ya on the 4x loser thing (granted, the Vikes lost before I was born).

@lovie smiths emotions: I did hear that in sunbelt states with high forclosures they hire a lot of guys to maintain repossessed homes (yard work, cleanup, keep looters away). Maybe that? Avoid CA like the plague though.

@ClueHeywood: The problem, I realized, was that I wasn't interested in practicing law. I really was only doing it because of the challenge of the LSAT and the career title, which was a stupid thing to do in hindsight. I may cross over at some point, but I'm taking baby steps for the time being.

@Mantis Toboggan, M.D.: Lebowski is one of my favorite comedies too. Then again, I saw it for the first time in like 1999 and had no idea what it was going in. I think the expectations game a lot of people had after seeing other Coen Bros. films first might have hurt it, as has the non-stop quoting by so many people

@ClueHeywood: I'm looking to get my MA, then eventually my PhD in rhetoric. It's what I've secretly wanted to do for some time, but have had some weird phobia of being an academic. I legitimately enjoy teaching though, and I think I can land on my feet at a good program with some money to pay for it. We shall see.

@UweBollocks: The entire "Physical Graffiti" album is just awesome.

@ClueHeywood: I walked away from a scholarship (partial, not full) to a top-50 program. I felt so at peace, even though I have no fucking clue where I'll end up in 7 months.

@Mantis Toboggan, M.D.: It got its good rep because the other films of that summer were dreadful. I don't like the "thinking" fellating either, but then again I liked it as a creative heist movie with a couple psychological twists in it.

@IronMikeGallego: I thought it was Valencia, Florida? And my point about anyone who lives in the San Gabriel/San Fernando/Inland Empire still stands: hot as shit, faceless 'burbs, and all the drawbacks of living in Cali with none of the benefits.

@ClueHeywood: Neither do I. I'm trying to leave the game in a few months, and I hope it works out.

@UweBollocks: Zep should also include "10 Years Gone" and "Misty Mountain Hop" (although that just elicits memories of smoky bars in Wisconsin).

@UweBollocks: Your life is likely already shitty if you work at a Sprint store in a strip mall in Valencia (butthole inland faraway suburb of LA...no offense to anyone on these threads who might be from there).

@ScientificMapp: What I learned from last year's Oscars and Emmys was crappy actress + fake southern accent = award.

@Donnie_Iris: If you've ever seen Extras with Ricky Gervais, you should watch the episode with Kate Winslet, where she goes off about how she was only doing a role in a Holocaust movie to get an Oscar nod. It's so perfect (ironically, she later won for her role in The Reader.

@ClueHeywood: They're not. The issue is that they graduate from the school of political management with minimal campaign experience and think they're James fucking Carville. The entitlement issue was just as bad. A lot of them chafe at the idea that they have to put their dues in before moving up in Capitol Hill or in
