Ok. Sounds interesting. I'm still more of a "kill enemies while exploring" guy than a "control the space" sort of guy, but I skimmed through that write up you linked to and it got me thinking maybe I should try it out when it's cheap.

If I remember right, the original Serious Sam had a lot of pretty small areas too. Indoor arenas, small courtyards, etc. That's why the killing of large numbers of enemies seemed like more of a core feature of the game to me than the environment size.
Not sure either. Maybe they believe fans of older games will want to see those old series revived? That said, what does 3D Realms even own these days? Maybe we'll get a new Major Stryker game? lol. A new Secret Agent or Cosmo game could be cool, but I dunno.
Serious Sam was a game where you entered an area, cleared out the enemies and moved onto another room/area to clear out enemies again. That differs from games like Duke Nukem, where the emphasis was on moving through an interesting level, getting doors open and reaching the end. If I remember right, you didn't…
I've played seven and eight. Not sure about nine. What I miss is the Keen 4 style. Everything after that used crazy color palettes and enemy designs that didn't appeal to me. Are there any mods/fan-games you can recommend that are more like Keen 4? (Or even Keens 1, 2 and 3)
Do we know what genre it'll be? I guess it will probably be a fun, cheery sort of movie, but I feel it would work better as a slightly cheesy horror movie. Maybe something like The Cave (the movie, not the game of the same name). I imagine a movie about a small team of characters on an expedition, or maybe a "They…
Yeah, I've played (and loved) The Fate of Atlantis. I think I briefly tried The Last Crusade, but I'm not sure. Having multiple options for overcoming certain obstacles sounds pretty good.
Was The Infernal Machine a full-on adventure game? Always thought it looked more like a Tomb Raider rip-off (ie. adventuring but with a lot of combat thrown in), but I don't think I ever actually checked it out properly.
Same here. I would think a decent optical mouse should work well on most desks. It's been years since I had a mouse pad and I get by just fine.
I got a Twitter account a couple of months ago solely for the purpose of signing up for game raffles (freekeyfridays). I've found a bunch of people on there who post really interesting or informative things, though. You just have to find the ones that actually put thought into their posts rather than writing pointless…
Guess this is nice timing for a Humble Bundle sale of simulator games: https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly
I imagine that, even though it's being developed for mobile from the start, it will play like a normal THPS game with terrible controls.
Not exactly an original concept. I saw a movie that included this sort of thing last year. It was called "Antiviral." Not sure if the trailer shows it, but a large part of the movie talked about meat grown from celebrity cells.
The puzzles in Portal 2 were far too simple. Not one in the singleplayer campaign challenged me (although the co-op campaign seemed to have more difficult ones from what I tried). I didn't think Glados was as entertaining either. All in all, I enjoyed the first Portal a lot more.
Child Link had bare legs, yeah, but adult Link in OOT wore tights...which actually would've worked nicely with girl Link.
I'm not sure this game compares to other similar games. The action doesn't look as varied, there are a lot of cutscenes, the combat looks a little button-mashy and the climbing looks really boring. I'm probably not the target audience, though.
Exactly. Apps might be great and custom-built for their specific purposes, but having to switch between fifty apps is a lot less convenient than just clicking links or switching back and forth between browser tabs. There's certainly a place for apps in our society, but as far as browsing, I tend to think that allowing…
The Dark Mod (free, fan-made Thief-like game) is good too, although finding fan-missions that you enjoy means sifting through a pretty large library of them.
Skyrim did the same thing, although maybe not to this degree. I find this sort of thing pretty immersion-breaking. It can't that hard to at least change a word or two each time you record, if you don't want to get the writer(s) to make entirely new lines.
Yeah. There's a "scary" level in this one too. http://sneakybastards.net/stealthreview/…
