I had fond memories of the first one, but I’m replaying it now and it’s driving me crazy. Faith keeps failing to grab things that are right in front of her, and the checkpoints are often just before long boring/easy stretches. Still a fun game when it works, but there’s a lot they can do to make the new one feel

Are you using the “fast” update track? The latest version fixed my driver issues completely.

They said the offer would only be available for a year, but once you take it you have the upgrade forever.

I haven’t played Bloodborne, but in Dark Souls I really preferred the feeling of being alone in a dangerous place. Playing online, with notes everywhere and invaders that rarely reacted to being hit, just ruined it for me. Offline play was much more enjoyable for me, and if I ever play Bloodborne I imagine I’ll play

Yep, and I never continued after reaching that point. I didn't want to "cheat" even though the game even mentions that option and I think I just moved on to other things rather than waiting. I really enjoyed the game until that part, though.

Wow, that's a pretty powerful clip. If only seeing a video like that would make would-be swatters realize how serious this is.

It looks like Gunpoint, but it doesn't feel like it (or Mark of the Ninja) very much at all, apart from the wall-climbing. This game is turn-based, at least as far as the combat goes. If I remember right, every entity takes their turn simultaneously, but you'll still be stopping in mid-air very often while you plan

Kids? :P I grew up in the DOS era and still play those games once in a while, but somehow I missed out on the Crusader series. No Remorse is probably one of the most broken games I've played from that period, and I was surprised because even the worst games I played back then generally seemed to deal with geometry

I got it expecting it to be great (Everything I'd seen of it made it look awesome), but wow...it just felt so broken. I was getting caught on everything and getting animation and collision glitches everywhere. I can't believe it was released in that state. When it works (mainly in open areas), it's pretty cool, though.

These are pretty high-res. Larger than my 1920x1080 monitor. Just click Expand and then right-click on the expanded image and select "View Image" (or the equivalent in your browser). It should be full-size then.

Yeah. I was not a fan of the casting at all, and I agree that the characters weren't fleshed out enough. I think if I actually liked at least one or two of the characters in the prequels, I might've been able to overlook almost everything else.

I'm not sure I have a favorite loot system. I think I tend to enjoy the ones where drops are predictable (ie. if the character was holding something, they'll drop it).

I've never tried a wheel, except in a store once, but I have this weird feeling that as soon as I try a racing game with the Oculus Rift I'm going to crave a steering wheel to go with it.

This game just looks like it could be pretty frustrating. The alien's movements seem so random. If I die multiple times in quick succession, the tension will probably disappear completely, replaced by annoyance. If, on the other hand, you can subtly manipulate the alien's movements and it reacts in a

He's also got a bunch of other soundtracks on there, like Kingdoms of Amalur and Perfect Dark, but note that some of them have a minimum price.

That looks really cool and surprisingly easy to use. That snow scene looks great. I hope you can turn off that screen blur, though. My eyes will do the focusing/blurring based on depth and peripheral vision all on their own and don't need built-in blur. I have a similar issue with 3D movies, where something my eyes

That's pretty cool. Reminds me of how people got the original Bioshock running on video cards that weren't supported at all. It was amazing to see it go from basically showing black textures everywhere to being almost perfect.

I mean the shadow cast onto the bike model. I see the shadow of the handlebars, but his thigh doesn't look like it's casting a shadow on the bike. Even with the angle, I would've expected some ambient occlusion or something (only if we're talking "looks like a photo" levels of quality, which we are).

That's actually the one that looks most fake to me. It's so smooth and clean, and it looks like someone took a "soften" filter to it. Also, the rider doesn't cast a shadow on the bike (I knew something was off with the lighting but only realized it just now). The dunes and smoke are pretty decent, though.

I don't think even one of those looks like a photograph. Not even close. They're all too soft and the textures are too flat (no parallax mapping or tessellation on things?). That said, most of them are still pretty nice shots, with the last one being my favorite.
