Saw one in the wild in South Dakota over the weekend. So between you and I we’ve seen like 2% ov their total fleet (okay, .2%).

It was pretty sharp looking.  I hope they make it.

Tesla was missing production goals on the Model 3 in a different world with far fewer supply chain constraints. The S and X had already been in production for years so I wouldn’t consider Tesla still a “startup” at that point. If Lucid/Rivian are still having production issues on their 3rd model in a fully restored

Well I hope they pull through.  Building cars is hard.  And they are at the point where Tesla was back in 2012.

I saw one on the road in way upstate NY last week, though it had NH plates. Absolutely stunning in person.

I saw one in the wild yesterday. I knew it was rare but not that rare. And I’m in north-central Florida, so it’s not like I’m in silicon valley.

50k more than what??? this is a loaded top of the line model. a loaded top of the line model s plaid with the brake upgrade to match what the lucid has costs 174k. even if you skip the brakes and get the plaid with FSD which this lucid has standard its 154. and thats just what it costs today.  theyve been raising

These are absolutely stunning in person. Glad to hear they seem to be as good as they look.

I would be more inclined to choose the Air Touring at 406 miles range and AWD at a $107,400 base price. Similar to Model S. Still quicker than any will need. I just hope Lucid has sufficient funding to weather the economic storm and remain a contender.

Unless it gets 700 miles of range, while towing a 25k pound trailer at 80 mph, and is able to carry 10 yards of dirt, this thing is USELESS! I do that every single day and every electric car must meet this requirements to be worth a shit because it clearly wouldn’t work for anybody else or their needs

still-respectable 819 hp and 885 lb-ft”

I didn’t start with a full charge and I also was going faster than their recommended 70 mph which will also cut range. Add in max a/c etc. and it chews into range. If I’d had 100% battery when leaving Menlo Park and had gone slower on a cooler day, it’d likely have just made it sans charger.

I never cared for the the look of the car in photos; I mean, it looks fine, but not outstanding. Like with many modern cars though, it looks much better in person.

You mean where Tesla still is, right?

Those are both sedans, sure.

I love the way Tesla gets Jalopnik’s panties all twisted.

And still are 10 years later.

You....you do realize that the 0-60 time is irrelevant right? Are you going to sit at the stoplight forever, entering “ludicrous mode” (eyeroll) and wait for the battery to “condition” itself while everyone behind you honks just so you can go 0-60 in 2.2s or whatever?

Yes, the wheels do sorta look similar.

But anyone who has seen one knows that they are in the very early stages where build quality is hit or miss. Exactly where Tesla was when they launched the first S.

Was all ready to comment “but the Tesla is much better looking” then I opened the post and wow is that a handsome automobile. This would get my fantasy money.
