Yeah, it is weird to see so much backlash. In the long-term the hotel is aimed squarely at traveling Googlers. They were already doing this before in the form of “G Suites,” which is basically the same thing but contracted through local apartments buildings.

This is the SF Bay Area we are talking about. $100 a night is a steal.

“No one” is a stretch. The State of New York is set to effectively ban them in new construction starting in 2026. That ban was covered on this very site, and encompasses all fossil fuel equipment including stoves, furnaces and water heaters.
