Slightly better? We went from >50% of the population working in agriculture to less than 2%. That’s a TON human labor that was freed up to work in other sectors in more productive jobs.

Fun indeed.
Yeah the section following the observatory is much better IMO. Less cyclists and cars.
I think my point was pretty clear. “Those were the days” if you happened to be wealthy. From a cost and accessibility perspective the state of airline travel is much better today than it was back then, even if it is less comfortable.
The tradeoff of course is that it was way more expensive to the point of being out of reach for most middle-class families.
Then go make cars elsewhere. Seems like a no-brainer.
Twitter’s bias in favor of rightwing fascists
Like many other things in our modern lives it will be subsidized by advertisements. The holy grail here is the ability for corporations to advertise directly to you in your own car as that car drives you...where ever. You will essentially become their ideal captive audience.
That’s not why they were banned.
I support London’s decision to ban Uber, for example, because Black Cab drivers are fucking amazing.
Why aren’t you against it? Why do you like racist content so much?
Whoops, dying, not drying!
Judging by the number of people drying every year from auto accidents, lots of things already can and have been going very wrong on public roads.

The whole point of an autonomous car (we’re talking levels 4 or 5 autonomy, not a Tesla with autopilot) the whole idea is that there is no “driver” and the passengers don’t need to pay attention.
But this isn’t comparable to airbags. Airbags don’t care about what other cars do or whether other cars on the road also have airbags.
Dude, most cities can’t even scrape together the funds and effort necessary to get traffic lights coordinated with eachother. Many lights are capable of sensing vehicles with cameras but will frequently stop a herd of 25+ cars, who just got their green light one block back, so that a single car who just pulled up to…
The government needs to step right in to establish car-to-car communications
Credit scores are ridiculous. They try to group you with other people by age, income, and whatever other information they have to create this score based on your credit useage history. So being in my mid twenties with no debt, 100k in the bank, and 40k in credit available, my credit score is still stuck just below…
