I really liked them growing up. Sadly their crash test ratings were awful and my parents never even looked at one because of this, and instead opted for Chrysler/Dodge minivans.

This is what white people do, everyday in large and small ways to PoC.
Better be a small boat.
I wish it were that easy but you can’t assume the car is empty.
Reason made some good points worth linking to. Why not let the reader make their own judgement?
In a way, I suppose. Just meant to point out that a lot of folks don’t really understand how Spirit is supposed to work.
That’s ok in theory, but that’s not how it works in practice. There is no savings. The price doesn’t go down. The old base price that included the amenities you claim you don’t want is the same as the new price without them. Only, now all those formerly included amenities cost extra.
They’re cheap bastards in every aspect of their operations
Americans feel entitled to top-tier service while paying bottom-tier prices.
I see it as paying for the services you actually use, rather than being nickel-and-dimed.
They nickle and dime you for everything
Doesn’t the car lineup still sell pretty well though? At least compared to GM and FCA. I see a lot more Fiestas and Focuses on the road than I do Sparks, Sonics, and 200s. The only Chevy car I seem to see frequently is the Cruze.
I think the Fusion and Taurus offer pretty good value for the money. You can get a brand-new base Fusion for around $19k if you play your cards right.
I don’t understand it either. I guess people don’t like having choices? Anything that’s not included in the base fare is considered “nickel and diming.”
You’re exactly the kind of person Spirit is meant for.
That is assuming that the cost savings is forwarded to the consumer. Again, in today’s society, if you think that will happen you haven’t been paying attention.
Automation of transportation isn’t a tool. It a job replacement.
That would assume a universal basic income. Costs of goods decreasing isn’t very helpful when you have zero dollars.
I don’t understand human’s want to kill off their own means of survival. Seriously, how many jobs is this going to kill? We bitch about how “there are no jobs” at the same time as actively embracing the tech that is destroying the market.
We employ people in hundreds of thousands of useless jobs because if we don’t the effect it will have on the economy is extremely detrimental.
