The ones sitting on dealer lots are pricey mostly because they’re optioned out. They’re really not bad if you custom order one and keep the options to a minimum. You don’t need lounge leather seats, panoramic sunroofs, park assist or any of that other expensive crap to have fun in these cars.

LIDAR hasn’t been adopted that widely yet, depending on where you live. Here in the midwest it’s still pretty rare.

I feel like the only reason they became “relevant” during election season was due to the ever-growing unpopularity of the two major nominees. Not exactly something they have much control over.

for them to have a chance something else has to change

I mean you need an ID for almost anything. Buying alcohol/tobacco. Renting an apartment, house, or car. Opening a bank account. Applying for food stamps, medicare, social security. Applying for employment (or unemployment). Getting on an airplane. The list is endless.

Ah, I thought you were seriously suggesting a ban on third parties. My mistake.

I think what’s selfish is telling someone—either a candidate or their supporters—that they should silence their own voice to make someone else’s louder.

Libertarians also stand for a lot of things that Hillary does not. Among them: non-intervenionism, small government, and economic freedom.

Why didn’t you guys just make third parties illegal after 2000 if they’re so terrible? Fuck, why didn’t you guys do ABSOLUTELY. ANYTHING. about this problem when it happened sixteen years ago? I’m repeating myself but I haven’t heard a single goddamn argument explaining it. Libertarians can’t pass laws, they don’t

This is Jezebel, aren’t you supposed to be ashamed for being white every day?

How so?

So you are saying a Stein voter would in a million years consider a vote for Donnie?

The pipeline doesn’t cross or touch the reservation at all.

It took more effort for you to write that comment than you claim it would take to find your source. Nice work.

Haha. Oh I get it. You realised you opened a big can of worms by bringing up the Koch Bros in the first place and now you want to try to make it sound like it was me who brought it up. Haha. Cute

Around here, the funeral homes always give orange flags for mourners to put on their vehicles. If that’s not a thing where you live, it sounds like it should be.

Uh huh but the reason people complain about Kock Bros and big oil is that both denied the existence and causes of Global Warming long after it was accepted scientific fact and both still wage campaigns of disinformation against mitigation of Global Warming for the simple fact that they are greedy. So really people

It’s not really relevant in this context, other than the fact that transporting the oil by truck and train rather than by pipeline generates a lot more GHGs (in addition to being less safe and reliable). But who cares about that as long as we get to say we pissed off some rich oil executives, amirite?

But how will we Make America Great Again if we’re forcing our companies to build factories in other countries?!

Not sure what global warming really has to do with this. The point is some people will still object to the pipeline’s construction in some lame attempt to screw over big oil companies, even knowing that alternatives to the pipeline carry a higher environmental/safety risk and are less efficient.
