thats great and all for city dwellers but the lack of proper bike lanes and even sidewalks where I live would make my wifes 2 mile drive to work challenging since drivers tend to disregard the speed limit on the road

I own a Tacoma, let that be my disclaimer.  I use it to support makerspace actvities, home improvements, offroading/camping, and commuting. at least 2 weekends a month the bed is full of something going somewhere.

I stick to the philosophy of “two is one, and one is none” when it comes to critical things. If I had a model3 I would use the app to unlock the car and etc but also keep the backup card on my person in the event the phone dies, gets destroyed, or misplaced.
