Thank you. One of my friends recently said he wanted to get a Crosstrek for his girlfriend. I told him he was an idiot and that she would be killed in traffic. He then said “Wait, isn’t it a turbo?” Uhhhh....no. It’s a great looking car, one that might be on my list if they offered 200+ hp and a stickshift with it.

Where do you live? In most cities I drive in, NY, LA, Chicago...if you cant get up to 75mph on an uphill onramp relatively quickly, you are getting run over.lol I consider a car that cannot make a pass on an 18 wheeler on a 2-lane backroad going uphill in a safe, short burst of acceleration, a car that can’t get out

Nice rebuttal; unfortunately, it completely fails to address the actual controversy at hand, namely, your farcical assertion that the Crosstrek is “quick”. What other measure are we supposed to use to quantify such a claim, if not “track times” vis-a-vis contemporary cars? Tractors? Oxcarts? Tectonic plates?

I’ve been in the Crosstrek and I’ve been in a Focus. That I’m immediately thinking that the Focus was more refined speaks to how dumpy the Crosstrek felt. I thought the Crosstrek was a great looking car at a good size. If we hadn’t sworn off Subaru I would have suggested it to my wife. After driving it, there’s no way

agree, wife wanted one until she drove it... then she ran from the crosstrek like it was on fire. Slow but also kind of a heap of plastic junk.

9.2 0-60. Nine point two. It’s literally one of the slowest cars sold on the U.S. market today.

I like the Crosstrek interior (less is more). But it is astonishingly slow. Like “there must be something wrong with this car” slow.

Oh, I have no doubts the Ford is miles more reliable which is sad because I’ve always wanted to love Subaru’s idiosyncratic ways, but they can never seem to get things all right. I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying your Focii!

“You can have a car in any colour you want, as long as it’s a profitable shade of CUV.”

Excuse me, I do not.

I was in a nasty motorcycle accident 9 years ago. Guy ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of me. I hit him at 35-40 MPH. Since I have no memory of the accident or the seven days after, I cannot say this with certainty. But the witnesses saw me drop the bike on purpose. That action saved my life, apparently. When

...will their new lack of diversity in their offerings bite them later when market demands change?

this is all fine except call the bank. Why on earth would you call them?

“What are we going to do?”

For his next car, he should immediately cut the wires to the DSC button so he can’t turn it off. And I was just wondering why my insurance rates went up 24% this year even though I have never had an insurance claim in the last 20 years. Now I know...I’m paying for him.

He obviously didn’t check the tire pressure before driving - it might have been a little off.

don’t worry, mexico will pay for it.

Ford just lost one of their own employees as a customer. That takes real effort.

Vehicle diagnostic logs, eh?
