Away with you and your logic.
Away with you and your logic.
You say that like it’s a bad thing.
This.
Of that $9500, what could you recuperate by parting out the bits that haven’t exploded/failed? If it’s just even $5k, and the car lasts a year, that’s $375/month for a 911. Not too bad.
Yes, just like no one’s ever died in an unavoidable car accident. Because reality.
No, I will take this into consideration.
Dude, have you ridden in a new Mercedes? Soundproofing is unbelievable.
It sounds heartless, but the only correct answer is the one that Mercedes gave. Would any of us give up control to a car that doesn’t prioritize the survivability of its occupants over anything else? I sure as hell wouldn’t. The car isn’t making a choice to kill those orphans, it’s making a choice not to kill you.…
This is the correct answer to the problem. My property does not get to determine whether I live or die, not for orphans, not for priests, not for the president.
Some of that headache may come with not being an assertive enough buyer, in my limited experience. When I purchased my last new car, I test drove it a couple of times and then handled all the negotiations by email and one phone call. I told the salesperson I didn’t want to hear any of the usual sales crap, but I’d…
When all shopping online does is give you a marginally higher price than if you emailed the internet sales manager and still requires a three hour discussion with the warranty and financing assholes, maybe the process isn’t quite ready; because maybe it doesn’t get rid of the goddamn car dealer experience.
Exactly what I thought...
Che Guevara Rally? Oowwkaay...
5 race cars so far. We have a nice number of road car orders.
Really? I live in SA and if your doing the speedlimit on 410 or 1604 your going to get smushed into by a F250 on 26" Forces. I make sure the tires on all my rides are speed-rated for over 100 as it is not uncommon to go that fast on some of the most desolate roads in the area.
85MPH + 16 over (I can still take D.D) = 101MPH on the way to Austin!
Only on jalopnik could I be reading about a cross country speed run in a $1500 car and wonder: “I wonder if Alex Roy’s M5 fuel tank was that ingenious?”, then scroll down and see a post from Alex Roy himself. What a world we live in!
I’m just here to say that I can’t believe Ed Bolian and Alex Roy are commenting on the same forum. Maybe I’m the only one that’s impressed. BTW I’ll take this moment to say that I believe both feats were very impressive and I don’t care what all the safety crazed commenters have to say. I still think its awesome and…
