That’s what it seems like! In my area if you want a soft top you pretty much have to do a factory order.

If you visit a Jeep dealer here (Louisiana) there might be a single soft top on the lot, if that, and about a dozen to two dozen hard top jeeps. Just a soft top is a rare sight let alone topless.

Yeah old Jeeps tend to be owned by younger people or enthusiasts. And/or they never came with a top in the first place.

That’s the thing, most people buy them as daily drivers. And those people never take the top off. The enthusiasts definitely do but they are an incredibly small population, and it’s usually a second or third vehicle for them. The hundreds of jeeps I see on the road every day, day in, day out, are hard top
