I honestly don’t see the problem. Sure there’s risk for the buyer, but with 0% APR theres literally zero interest cost. Seems like Ford is taking on the majority of the risk here. It’s not like you can’t go underwater on shorter loans either.

1, with the way the market is today, you might not be underwater on a new car in a year
All I care about is the 4xe, and Jeep dropped the ball on it. All these automakers need to stop putting weak ass electric motors in their PHEVs. 4xe should have 250HP electric motors at the minimum.
I want to talk to the idiots who voted CP on this. I would never buy this, but I think this price represents insane value. ESPECIALLY in today’s market
Please don’t encourage this shit.
Repeat after me
Not just sports car platforms; ICEVs in general. Electrification is a huge part of it, but there’s also the simple fact that automakers have got really good at making platforms, to the point that they don’t need keep scrapping them with every generation. This is nothing new... the last gen Camry was on the same…
You’re being melodramatic. Again we are talking about platforms here. The Supra is on the same platform as the X7. There is plenty of leeway to make unique cars on a single platform.
Platform whining carryover is just a way for insecure car geeks to try and look smart and discerning. Newsflash, literally every big automaker just started doing what Nissan did 20 years ago with FM. BMW has CLAR, Mercedes has MRx, VWAG has MxB, etc etc. If you think they’re gonna toss those platforms out any time…
What’s scale for Tesla? Even if we agree that the stock is wildly overvalued, what kind of volume do you see Tesla settling at? 1 million, 2 million cars a year?
I should have started my post with “Tesla is not a growth stock”. They are primarily a car company and should be evaluated like other car companies. There is no path to even justifying 1/5th of their valuation.
Even in the context of growth stocks Tesla’s valuation is ridiculous and unwarranted.
I know it wouldn’t have helped with sales, but I think this would have been great with the V6 and the torque vectoring AWD from the Highlander. To me, 200+ lb ft through an open diff front transaxle is pointless. The allure of chirping the front tires from every stop and turn died for me at about age 26
Maybe those crossovers ARE the cool vehicles to the people buying them. Why do enthusiasts think they get to decide what everyone else should like and drive?
It amazes me that people still think whining about crossovers makes them sound cool or interesting. Would you whiners rather Aston Martin go out of business?
Reminds me of this, which is a reliable chuckle
The RC213V is honestly the worst bike on the grid right now. It ended the careers of Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Crutchlow, and it is chewing through Marc & Taka’s shoulders. Everyone but Yamaha has managed to make significant progress with their bikes; yet the Honda has had the same problems for all of Marc’s time on it.…
“They’re worse because Jeremy Clarkson/Chris Harris/Scotty Kilmer/(insert auto media figure here) said so and they tell me what I think about cars”
Putting aside how generally awful the truck owner was, it always baffles me that people are willing to kill over stuff. Maybe I am just fortunate and obviously I wouldn’t like any of my stuff stolen but I also don’t really own much I couldn’t replace.
If it’s really in good running shape, slamming deal. Miles are not relevant on a modern car and this is a future BaT classic
