I read the entire series and read Annihilation again and never thought about her as Asian.

I’d love to go back to last fall when Bisciotti (Ravens owner) was floating the idea of bringing in Kaepernick and Ravens fans were OUTRAGED because HOW DARE HE question the boys in blue.

THESE are the boys in blue.

That one thing pronounces it “jagwires”.

How did the Polish Hockey team drown?

There’s tons of good car stuff in that movie.

You know how everyone says the GTI’s really lose resale value? Mainly because of perceived reliability. Well....

He was sucked into the game because of something he did as 12 year old. He wanted out as soon as possible and supposedly WAS out before he was brought back in because of threats to people he loved.

I loved it. Saw it in the theaters, bought it. I’ve watched it 4 or 5 times. It’s funny, surprisingly sad, has a unique tone. Has great lines, well-defined characters, some totally cinematic beautifully composed shots, both in action and stillness. It’s good while stoned.

Uh-huh.

But not weird in the context of this film at all. The whole film was essentially a big “nah” to what Star Wars Fandom has become.

Yes, that opening car “chase” in Drive was better than any chase in Baby Driver. For my money, the opening credits of Baby Driver were better than the opening car chase.

I thought the first scene of Valerian was its best also. As a matter of fact, the first 3 or 4 scenes were the best in the whole movie. That’s not a great formula for a movie. It went slightly downhill after the market scene. But, the opening scene gave you chills, and VERY high hopes for the movie.

It’s also rather funny that another movie on this list, Baby Driver, used the same conceit when buying guns that John Wick 2 did. In BD’s case, discussing the guns as if they were parts of a hog. Everything but the squeal.

Charles Stross’ “Neptunes Brood” was another take on plugging the soul into a new vessel.

Instead of a murder mystery, the main idea of the novel was how we’re going to deal with intergalactic banking when we’re colonizing worlds separated by light years and space ships require the “GDP” (if you will) of an entire

I love the selection. I love being able to download (on wifi) and subsequently remove albums without taking all the space on my phone. I like how it’s more “album-centric” than “single-centric”. I love their moods and activities and their playlists. But the interface is SO SHITTY.

I need to hit the back button so

There’s a great bit of analysis on youTube called “How Mad Max L Fury Road Directed YOU!” It’s an excellent break down of why the action is so easy to follow, and makes sense.

In “David Brent : Life on the Road”, in order to create the semblance of being in a “cool band”, the untalented David Brent has to pay the talented actual musicians in his band just to drink beers with him after the show.

Excellent non-winking post-modern takedown of the ill-informed blowhards who actually seem to seriously want to ban golf. Well done and you roped ‘em all in. Excellent coordination with the “foot golf” guy, too.
