This, seriously. Competitors is a fine word. Not calling them athletes doesn’t rob them of their skills or accomplishments. An athlete is a specific thing. Someone who gets very very good at video games - good enough to turn pro - is highly accomplished and it’s admirable, but they are not an athlete.

The characters models, and the way the armor sits on them, are distinctly different in game and clearly identifiable as male or female. These are all dudes for sure.

Im with you. I’ve played past BF games for years and years, and this one got maybe 30 hours out of me then done. It’s not so much the progression as I actually like the lighter amount of gear, it’s that none of the gun are fun to shoot and the classes are all messed up. Sad times, I was expecting/hoping for another…

I agree. I’m super psyched for a gear reset and wish they had done it properly at each DLC. I’m not happy about all my cosmetics going away though. Emotes, ships, sparrows, etc. I hope those stick around.

I didn’t say they explicitly said you carry gear forward, I said they created that expectation by saying we will have these characters for 10 years, across multiple games. Here’s a couple of them, I’m sure there are more.

Me too. I loved Destiny, and don’t really regret my time spent there, but I would probably has spent less if I had known earlier that my stuff wouldn’t transfer.

Oh that’s fair. Dark Below, Kings Fall, and Wrath of the Machine all contain the boss fights so to speak. But they don’t have any kind of exposition.

The expectation came from Bungie. Before release they talked about how players will create characters that they will take with them from game to game over the course of the next ten years.

You can play all the story stuff (such as it is) solo. You may occasionally see another player on your way to the mission though.
