That is not a good example because things recorded in GarageBand or Logic can be played on a wide range of devices and apps. Thinks made in iBook Author can only be opened in iBooks.

I'd be more afraid of the Ori. The Goa'uld are arrogant fools.
So if you were offered time on the ISS to have fun and check it out you would say no because it wasn't fair?
Ah yes, all those massive backdoor air wars going on and now we are going to fight Russia over a space probe. Then we are going to ruin the world economy by declaring war on China!
How is my point biased? I just said it has nothing to do with the company, and everything to do with what they are doing. Apple just HAPPENS to be the company doing this which is a good thing because they execute this stuff well.
I'm not, this is an advancement to fight the Cold War, which is over. I would prefer more UAV, troop armor, and other developments that we actually need in the next few decades.
I just wish they put all that money and effort into military equipment we actually need.
All of that falls away when you realize you can search your notes.
The moment you call someone an "Apple apologist" or any other stupid "fanboi" name like that, it makes you look like a fool who no longer has a valid argument.
Before long every freaking desk will have a mass-produced cheap touchscreen in it.
Finally something to put Blackboard out of its misery.
Blackboard is awful, awful, awful. I cannot even begin to describe how bad it is that Blackboard is the best of a whole bunch of awful software.
Except blackboard sucks, as do all the other existing digital course solutions.
Except the online systems at college are absolutely awful and don't have all your course materials or other such things. Also most of the features aren't used.
Well who is going to do it if not a private company? Do you see the government really developing schools and education technology? And even if they did it would probably be AWFUL.
...so you are agreeing with what I used to discount your argument.
WTF are you talking about. Books DO become obsolete after a year, especially text books in schools which tend to be many years old before being replaced.
What are you talking about obsolete? Just because a new version comes out does not make the previous one any less functional.
Stop thinking so short term. This is planning for the future. It wasn't long ago that the idea of even having a desktop computer in a poor ghetto school was laughable.
I grew up in a public school, and then later went to a private school, so I got the best of both worlds.
