Then what are you talking about. You seem to be arguing that once an indy car goes out of control, it doesn’t stick to the ground anymore and “flies” off track, even though there hasn’t been a single example of such a crash this season. Plus since an indy car isn’t supposed to generally be moving through the air

A deformable surface would be considered active aerodynamics and therefore against the rules. Not a bad idea by any means but it’s not going to be implemented anytime soon.

Ironic considering indy cars use the most ground effects of any series. And you say I’m out of my element. Unless you have a PhD in aerodynamics I dont think you have any right to say I’m out of my element.

Once again the Huayra is a closed wheel full bodied car. There is a hood and a rear bonnet with vast (relatively) expanses to place flaps on.

NASCAR’s have huge flattish surfaces on the roof, hood, and trunk areas where they use those flaps to mitigate rollovers. Indy cars don’t have the same areas that they can use the flaps.

Ok i think we meant the same think I just misunderstood you.

  1. “All supercars now can be driven by complete idiots” - a perfect contrast to what Sabine just said about the R8.

He said it felt as if he was floating AFTER he lost grip. The cars are set up to have maximum grip when pointing forward. Once he started sliding (where he lost grip) the air is flowing over the car sideways and not head on. Therefore no downforce.

Hey! Don’t turn this into meowschwitz!

You should really watch all three and get used to the shows before making judgements. TGUSA is better than this new Top Gear in my opinion, just skip the first two seasons. Same with OG Top Gear. We just have to wait and see what groove this version slips into.

Just my opinion but as long as Evans keeps trying to be Jeremy Clarkson I don’t think it can go anywhere but down.

Have you even watched TGUSA recently? Because season 3 was decent and it just got better from there.

I guess I won’t be there for them then.

Start at season 3 or something and completely disregard the first 2 seasons.

Obviously safety is an extremely high priority to the NHTSA though, but there are other factors that you can’t just ignore. There is nothing wrong with cars themselves. They aren’t the root problem. Roads are designed for primarily automobile travel and it shows. Rather than saying stuff like ban cars, we can instead

Fair enough. But it isn’t the only goal and to assume so would be short-sighted.

Fine. Whatever.

Just because it works for you doesn’t mean it works for everyone else.

Sure but how many people can cross the country in 10 days. The athletes in that race are in peak physical condition. A far cry from 90% of the population.

So everyone here is a fool since you didn’t know about Monaco’s unique layout.
