Yes, I prefer the sound of six pistons more than eight. To me this is an abomination, no matter how much better it is.
Where I'm from, it's marketed as a multilock. Basically, the lock is welded directly onto the car to fit snuggly right next to the gear lever. The key has too loosely moving cylinders which I assume are magnets so I doubt anyone without serious skills is getting through that
