I don't know about that, he didn't say anything expressly political. Could be a raging liberal for all you know! We've got some superbly interesting people here.

I appreciate Corvettes, and I’d absolutely take a ZR1 if someone offered it to me. But I have to be honest, I just do not get in the least bit excited about new Corvette news. All I see is a Ferrari-esque [especially in this latest iteration], sort of cheesy body, too much plastic, an empty feeling clutch, and a

"Sex."

Actually, when a manual transmission is available on a vehicle, it often offers the potential for greater fuel savings, due mostly to the fact that you have more control over exactly what the entire driveline is doing.

In-town milage is something worth considering, however the cost of hybrids far outweighs any milage benefit you may see at low speeds. To make up the purchase price difference between a Volt and a Jetta TDI in around town fuel savings would take many, many years.

I don’t know if I’d consider 35-40 miles per gallon "quite good" for a car that runs on electricity. Oh wait what’s that? The Volt isn’t actually an EV and GM has/continues to lie about the Volt and people believe it?

We have verification of the existence of a flux capacitor.

Where in Texas do you autocross that pretty Chevy? I have to say, that’s an idea I just might have to borrow from you. Sounds like a ton of fun to me.

I ask you not to judge me negatively based on my username — it happens here on the front page more often than I thought it would. That said, I think that comparing the Confederate flag to the Nazi swastika is absolutely not okay. African American slavery was a terrible, horrible, disgusting part of history. The

Uhg. I understand that 1st gear is somewhat relevant to the topic of "cars," but I seriously don’t want to read about politics when I visit Jalopnik, especially about a non-issue like the tired, old, and boring topic of the auto industry bailout. You do good work Micheline, but I kindly suggest less politicking and

That video made me so mad it wasn’t even funny. And that was before I was a diesel owner.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. Though when it comes down to it, I’ll probably end up buying it anyway.

I have a feeling this is going to be a little too arcadey for me. I am shamelessly addicted to Forza 4, but I’m addicted to the precise suspension tuning, lap-time cutting, perfect drift perfecting, absurdly realistic motorsport aspect of the game. Don’t get me wrong, I would really love an "open world," free roam

The extreme toe out at the back dramatically increases rear-end yaw; compounding that with extreme negative camber requires less power to initiate power-oversteer. On the front, the toe out creates a sort of slower steering effect resulting in more precise control mid-corner. And it all looks ridiculous (ly awesome).

I appreciate the story and I have nothing against it. But, it’s incredibly boring and there’s nothing I can do to affect the situation besides vote for my party of choice this November. I think I’ll get back to enjoyable activities like absurdly fast drifting videos and finding the right DPF delete exhaust and intake

Amen to that. It’s an old argument and generally one that all of us here agree with: Nanny systems create lazy drivers, and lazy drivers are dangerous drivers. I learned to drive on a manual when I was 7 or 8, and while my DD pickup is an automatic, my other cars are all manual. I just love it. Oh, and not a single

Benjamin, I just saw this on my local Austin, TX abc affiliate, KVUE. Apparently, while the driver of the Kia was doing 115 halfway off the road on the phone with 9-1-1, the dispatcher attempted to calm her down, and then told the driver to "lift her foot off the gas pedal and push the brake," the effects of which

I agree. My point was — as you can see in my other replies — opinions on gun control just don’t have a place here on an automotive blog. That doesn’t mean that Mr. Impala driver wasn’t a certifiable retard, because he absolutely was.

I never said the guy wasn’t a complete idiot. Patrick added to the story LATER that the gun was stolen. Regardless of where he obtained the weapon, he had no reason to carry it in his car with him. So yes, he was a chronic dumbass.

First, the "allegedly stolen" bit was added to the article after I read it, which changes the entire tone of the sentence. Second, yes, the guy was a dumbass and regardless of how he came into possession of the weapon he shouldn’t have had it there.
