Remorseful Casting Couch
A film by Lars von Trier

But we don't have a public apology. Just because they said "Our apologies" doesn't change the fact that the tweet equated to "Oh, we're sorry you're bothered, but we didn't say it, so we don't have to tell you that we know it's wrong."

Here's how I see it:

You must be new here.

Hey, you know what isn't the same as genital mutilation?

This is so cute. When I was really little, my friends and I tried to dig a hole to China. The ground in my childhood backyard is real loose, so we got pretty far down, maybe four feet. My dad was real pissed, but he just let it go. Kids will be kids, y'know?

That's kinda what I was thinking. Original Lara Croft is by no means a well-rounded character in the least. She comes off as immensely one-dimensional, and more or less just, as you said, an exaggerated male fantasy kickass girl. The Tomb Raider films didn't help that, at all.

I... uh... I think...

you fucking take that back.

Lady pixels aren't there for your sick male gaze, cishet scum. Check your privilege, shitlord.

Oh, you mean something we desperately need??!

Uh oh, somebody has had a bad run of things...

Yeah, I can only think of two characters that resemble Ellen Page, and one of them is actually Ellen Page.

Hi there! Married man with a son and a great mom who plays as women in video games here. Sup?

This, exactly.

But, Lara Croft in reboot Tomb Raider seems way, way stronger than classic Lara Croft. Reboot Lara Craft is just a 19-year-old student who's forced to survive, and learns that she's actually really, really good at doing what she needs to do to survive. She looks like a real person, and she definitely behaves like one.

I will always choose female. Why? Because it's more awesome to play as a kickass heroic woman and cut off some heads, rather than play yet another heavily-muscled dude saving the world.

As someone who started playing as female characters when I got Pokemon Crystal when I was 10, I'm so happy this article was written. Since then, if I've had the option, I've played as a woman.

I named her Fionna, because I'm just that kinda guy.

You can be snarky all you want, but you have to admit, this month was a little weaker than the last few. It's not as though I'm going to cancel my Plus subscription, I was just hoping for something a little more exciting.
