That's kinda what I was thinking. Original Lara Croft is by no means a well-rounded character in the least. She comes off as immensely one-dimensional, and more or less just, as you said, an exaggerated male fantasy kickass girl. The Tomb Raider films didn't help that, at all.

But, Lara Croft in reboot Tomb Raider seems way, way stronger than classic Lara Croft. Reboot Lara Craft is just a 19-year-old student who's forced to survive, and learns that she's actually really, really good at doing what she needs to do to survive. She looks like a real person, and she definitely behaves like one.…
