That number is a bit misleading, though - for CP2014, the inmate has to have no significant criminal history and no history of violent crimes. By the time you’re in federal prison, you’ve more likely than not served state time for your crimes and maybe been involved with violent crimes, or have significant gang ties.

There is a huge unmet need in Houston. Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) and Human Rights First always have huge waiting lists. KIND is definitely looking.
