ZHP equipped 330i Rare, capable, solid, and fun.

Thank you! Some people need a gentle reminder.

There was a post in the Wagon Mafia FB group a few weeks ago. Someone in the group went to look at it and it apparently has a rust problem.

I also DD an E39 wagon I bought off the interwebz. (02 540iT). I’ve been quite happy in my nearly 2 years of ownership.

August of 2015 I was determined to find an E39 touring. After the seller dropping out of an eBay auction I won for one that was in Chicago, I found one I liked in Queens, NY. 2002 540iT with sport, and M5 wheels. I was in love. Booked a one way flight on Virgin America from DFW to JFK on a Friday

I43k.

Wow! That’s insane! How many miles are on yours?

On my drive home I remembered my alternator needed replacing a few months back. Since it’s water cooled and seemed like a ton of work that was one job I paid a mechanic for. The part from BMW was somewhere close to $900, I got one on Amazon for $300 and paid another $250 in labor. Not too bad.

I think you and I have more in common just by what you mentioned in the post than I have ever had with any significant other I’ve ever had. Lol

Beg to differ. I own an E39 touring (02 540iT) and it’s been the easiest and most affordable car to work on I’ve owned. Parts are plentiful and affordable, and since it’s before the over-computerization of BMWs they are pretty simple.

Lingering damage, I say lasting legacy.

Oh without a doubt, I lucked out.

At my school a star baseball player fucked up his scholarship by taking a digger to the football field (senior prank). His dad had purchased him a new corvette the week prior.

Oof. Yeah I’d have added some eggs to the mix for that.

I would have accepted a medal for not getting my 85 Accord 5-speed stuck on those hills.

I may or may not have done something similar on a soon to be opened golf course when I was in high school. It’s amazing I never got arrested for the amount of stupid shit I did in my teenage years.

Had a 92 blue/grey Vigor GS in high school. Solid, fun little car.

I choked. Lol

We could throw a Louvered Saab into the mix...

For real! My 540iT has been the easiest car I’ve owned to work on. This guy needs to learn how to turn a wrench and shop somewhere other than the BMW dealer for parts.
