Honestly, I think this would be brilliant in a closed loop system, IE "stadium to parking" or "airport terminal to airport terminal". Lots of capacity, lots of doors, low driver to passenger ratio (ie you can have more busses!)

Simple. I once read of a man who made a homemade tractor using bits of old Chevys and Dodges. He had two transmissions as he needed a lot of low down torque "grunt" but still needed to drive his creation down the road from field to field at 55 MPH.
