We miss the movie going experience so damn much that we jumped at the chance when our local Cinemark offered this as a private screening. $150+ tax and your party of up to 20 trusted masked friends & family have the run of the auditorium. No way were we doing a theatre otherwise - too risky.

This movie still breaks my heart!

I was lucky enough to pick this up last year when it was a Kickstarter at $50. Worth every penny - we’ve taken it on a couple of vacations and not had a problem jacking it into the hotel tv. Even tho’ it comes with a carry pouch for the plug, I cart it around in the box (which is big enough to also store an HDMI

More importantly, when can I pay $200+ for this at Disneyland?

I am still pissed that they made Jim Phelps the bad guy in the first Mission:Impossible film. F*ck that! In fact, there was no need for any OG IMF to be in that movie at all. And if they were going to bring in OG IMF, bring in the OG actors!! I would have loved to see Barbara Bain and Martin Landau pull some

Funny you mention the ‘demonizing China’ angle. Here in AZ we’ve been seeing ads for McSally where they’re really pushing this whole thing about Mark Kelly being in the pocket of China. Like, to the point of being comical. My husband and I saw that commercial (yeah, we’re old and watch Jeopardy, which is a breeding

I think the sequels moving away from DTV is attributed to Toy Story. They had a deal with Pixar, which was still independent at the time, for a certain number of projects. When they put together Toy Story 2 they realized it was much greater in scope than DTV could do justice, so it ended up going theatrical. And then

That’s the one. Just finished a rewatch of the whole series and they said it was $50k for those few seconds of Liz on her couch, wearing a Slanket, cutting up a block of cheese at 2am. I think they even reference it again in season 6 when joking about the cost of music licensing.

When Roddy McDowall bites it, you know no one is safe in that movie!

I haven’t been able to find a thread on it, but can we talk about how amazing the opening scene was? I would absolutely believe that was footage shot back in the ‘90s.

I too hoped for novelizations - especially for ‘High Life’ because I need to know what happened to Monte and Willow.

That scene is particularly impactful. I can see why he decided to leave it as-is.

Jasper himself, Jackson Rathbone, made this observation:

I think they pulled back the ceiling as well (or brought in - it’s been so long). We did the ‘behind the scenes’ tour and it was well worth it. Hands down the best effect ever. They even mentioned that an unintended side effect of the wall slides was the cool whoosh of air, that helped sell it even more.

And EGOT Rita Moreno!

I’m still having a hard time with Lin-Manuel Miranda as Lee Scorsby - regardless, I’m sure he’ll do a great job.

MY EYES! MAKE IT STOP!!
