She asks that questions so it’s not a matter of volunteering the info. I agree that they might not answer honestly, though I suspect most gun owners would answer. It is ABSOLUTELY her business if her kid is playing there.

Who cares if it’s weird? If we are talking about leaving a kid at someone’s house under their parents’ supervision than that is definitely not early on in the relationship. But even if I am going to be there I am for sure asking where the gun is and how it is stored, if it is loaded.

Not everyone has that good health in their later years, unfortunately. My mom is in her late 70's and is not doing well. In fact, not one of my grandparents or aunts/uncles or my dad lived past 80. Ugh.
