This makes sense to me. Whenever we see assault scenes in movie, they are still sexualized and made somewhat-swallowable by the public. I haven’t seen this movie but maybe this movie was more real about what real rape looks like then most Hollywood movies who tend to still glorify the sexual objectification of women

Having seen the film, I would say that it’s only “sensitive” in the sense that it’s clearly grounded in the pain of the main character; it’s not just using her pain as a cheap way of showing that the bad guys are bad. Indeed, part of the brutality comes from the men’s bumbling capriciousness; they’re banal evildoers

I think that is what gets me. Rape scenes, I believe, are often not as brutal as they should be. We shouldn’t be tamping them down because that just helps contribute to the idea that rape isn’t really a big deal - something society seems to believe as we see again and again. And if a woman with minimal power was being

“Comcast has an outstanding record of supporting and fostering diverse programming, including programming from African-American owned channels, two more of which we launched earlier this year,” the cable provider said in a statement.

So if you or I get summoned for jury duty, we are instructed that we MUST show up or we will be considered in contempt of court and could be arrested.

The adult Trump children thank you for their very luxurious trip to the United Kingdom, which was paid for with public money! When was the last time you took a nice trip? Probably not as nice as their trip, which you paid for.

Yea, I’ve heard that she is neither particularly interesting nor intellectually stimulating to talk to (which I guess is what you get when the literal only qualification for your job is “be pushed out of the right vagina first”), and that other than the novelty of being able to say you’ve met the Queen, it’s not the

To be honest I think it’d be quite boring. She can’t exactly tell you any stories of her life (some of the best bus journeys I’ve had have involved talking to older people and hearing their stories) because she has to be “above that” so it’s really seeing a personification of an ideal more than a person...

He’s not alone in thinking that the current Republican caucuses are caucuses and not cabals. One of the Dem governors running in the primary, Hickenlooper IIRC, has been talking as if Congressional GOP is the same as the state reps he dealt with. Seriously?

What?!? Bitch McConnell?!? Speak on policy in such a way that would bring her family in conflict with either nipple they’ve been suckling on?   Surely, you jest.

Anyone not white, male, and filthy rich who supports Donald Trump is a goddamn idiot. I mean, the filthy rich white males who support him are goddamn idiots too, but supporting him while not fitting into the category of “the only people who could possibly benefit from a Trump presidency” really turns the idiot volume

I mean, even his own economic advisors he sends out on television admit that.  But you don’t say “no” to daddy.  You just let him yell, apparently.  You know, ‘cause reasons.

THAT’S NOT HOW TARIFFS WORK.

Thank you. I knew it was wrong looking at it, but could not articulate it. Plus, he’s a fucking moron, so I could not even begin to guess which rules he was ignoring.

Not sure where he’d have seen the crowds - he landed at Stanstead which is in the middle of nowhere, flew straight to central London over a neatly mown penis. Went into the Ambassador’s residence, flew from there to Buckingham Palace, car to Westminster Abbey, helicopter back in the evening...

Thing is no one turned out, not even that many protesters at times. Last time everyone was talking about the trip for weeks while at the office no one mentioned it not even once for the last little while.

He’s wearing the vest far too long. It should just cover the waistband of the trousers, but he’s got it sitting on his hips. Like he’s said about his long-ass ties, he must think this is slenderizing. Instead, he’s fucked with the proportions and it looks like his tailcoat is far too short (the sleeves are also too

Ha!

I bet they didnt even get him French fries and cheeseburgers like he likes. No class.

The image of Trump in a tux is exactly like the image of a three year old in a tux. Now, this is not to besmirch three year olds, they’re not really supposed to like being in a tuxedo. A grown (theoretically speaking) man should be able to fucking deal with it and not look two seconds away from a tantrum.
