It looks like it would be useful for FPS, maybe some RPGs and strategy games... and that's about it. Any action games, platformers, etc, which need to use face buttons would be severely hindered. Fighting games are obviously out of question.

I'd say they gave their characters more than their vocal cords. Hair/clothing aside, the characters (judgung from screensots, at least, I won't play the game until it's out on PC) appear to have been modeled off these fine gentlemen, body type and mugs included. Did they also do mocap?
