If you have spent any time driving the current M5/M6 you may agree it’s rather traction limited. 1st gear is spinning the tires for the most part and 2nd gear can be pretty wild too...and this in the dry on a warm day. Not abnormal to have the traction light flickering in 3rd or 4th at freeway speeds too.

BMW must be saving a ton on R&D compared to past M models that always had bespoke engines for almost every new generation.

Purchased two cars from Pacific BMW in Glendale (LA), found one of the popular salesman on Bimmerpost. He gave me a great deal on a new 2015 320i for my Mom, even had it put on a flatbed and delivered 125 miles away to her door front down in San Diego for no extra cost. All paperwork was done via FedEx.

I agree with this, the effort you put into your appearance says a lot about oneself. If you go around looking like a hobo then why would you expect to be treated any differently? I swear this is an American mindset, where rolling out of bed and driving to the local Porsche dealer means you should be treated the same

Once electric takes over...

Saw 2 of these wrapped up doing street testing in LA en route to work yesterday, one of the easier designs to spot even with all the camo.

I think that merely highlights the fact that every 3rd car or so on the west side is a BMW...

Owned a 2015 M3 6-spd for a year and a half, one of their best shifters ever put in a BMW, very direct but easy to use day to day.

I like how other cars drove past, like hmm that’s odd...oh well!

I had a 2011 135i 6-spd for a short period, I quite liked it...a bit insulated but nice steering, solid brakes, and taut ride... I still knew I was driving a BMW. Also the front end suspension compliance with the dual thrust arms versus the single control arm from E46 and earlier generations really helped in the ride

Agreed, I’ve owned many BMW’s including a F80 M3. But the current 3-series is boring to drive. Numb steering, soft suspension, ceramic brake pads that don’t bite well, fuel mileage orientated tires...it really does nothing for me. Now maybe the M-sport 330i/340i are better but I even found my M3 which I no longer own

I’ve never thought of this but in retrospect all the cars have been generally fun from my ex’s, benefits of being in so.cal? G35, E46, Mini, C-class and so forth.

Sat in a 4.0 Singer Porsche this past weekend, the attention to detail is off the charts. Revving up that engine you can just tell it would be amazing to drive. Worth every penny!

I think that’s a good point, growing up in CA, an older BMW (or German car) is extremely common and seen as a normal ride. From my social world, either you drive Japanese or German.

Analogies, not your strong suit Fidel.

That’s not even funny...it’s one thing to squeal the tires or such but to absolutely screw over the rental company and potentially cause serious damage to a car really showcases the quality of person you are.

Growing up in La Jolla and now living in LA, while there are sweet rides in SD, the amount of them in LA is frankly overwhelming. And so many rare models rolling around.

I have lived in Ktown for nearly 4 years, I like all the 1920's architecture and pace but it’s not so much hipster like our neighbors Silverlake/Echo Park but a lot of young Korean money. The disparity of wealth in this area is like no where I have seen in the US, I will regularly see $100-$250k cars rolling around,

Tell that to all the new high rises and young Korean money, hell my 1 bedroom is $2k a month...it’s not what it was just a few years ago.

I called them a few months ago when this lady was blocking our parking garage entrance with her car, it wouldn’t start but in addition to this she was either mentally ill or on something, probably both. She was pacing around in circles in her underwear and yelling to no one around her.
