I don’t know why you would need to recast one Kang, just give Kang a recognizable facial scar and cast as many people as you need as different Kangs who all have the scar, there were alligator and Richard E. Grant Lokis, the Kangs don’t all have to be the same

Cast Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Kang. It seemed they were leading into her being a Kang variant with the Loki S2 plotline anyway.

Best approach: Recast Kang, and simply don’t comment on the fact that he looks different. The characters don’t need to acknowledge it. It’s the same character played by a different actor, it’s happened before, it doesn’t need in-world explanations.

Cosplayers dress as asian characters whose skin tones do not match theirs all the time and I have never seen a single one of them recolor their skin for authenticity of costume. Why is it deemed necessary when they want to cosplay black characters?

Some people are desperate to shoehorn their “edgy” take into any conversation.

Considering that this is Mercy’s 5th lunar new years skin while several actual Asian characters don’t yet have one, it seems to me they are already bottling up each individual culture such that everyone stays in their respective lanes. Namely the white woman in the Asian lane, and the Asian character in nothing.

Let me know when an Asian character gets their 5th Switzerland skin.

People can be upset about multiple things you know. And individual people are very different with different likes and dislikes so lumping them all together as a monolith is kind of silly.
