Years of "anti-hero" TV where the show did a worse and worse job of establishing the main character as a bad person has lead to this moment.

It’s pretty clear Disney as pivoted to the same model as most streaming platforms. Throw whatever out there, let the audience watch what they want, and only throw advertising revenue at stuff that picks up momentum due to organic word of mouth.
