Enlighten me how a shoplifting charge will play into the fact that they illegally hunted Arbrey, confronted him with weapons as citizens and not as officers of the law, and then murdered him when he defended himself? 

Bringing up the fact that the officer had lapsed in his firearms and deadly force training in this situation is completely relevant. No matter what crimes Ahmaud Arbrey was convicted of before, there was no valid citizen’s arrest here and the punishment for whatever they suspected him of here was not murder.

They’ve ranked 1st, 10th, and 1st in the Majors in runs PG over the previous 3 seasons entering 2019 and had the top OPS in baseball on 2016 and 2018.

I chose 2016 because it was when he became the everyday CF. He’s got an OPS .015 below league average across 2017-18 and still ranks in the top 10 among CF in WAR for those seasons.

Across 2016-2018, he was 5th in baseball in WAR among CF, behind Trout, LoCain, Kiermaier, and Charlie Blackmon.

Sure but that’s different from what the original point was, that he’s a net negative defensively. Also Jorge Polanco is currently #4 in WAR and I don’t think you’d say he’s the fourth-best player in baseball. There’s a lot of noise in a SSS dose of WAR and it’s not the way the stat is intended to be used. 

5 straight seasons with a positive dWAR and he’s 3rd among all CF in Fangraphs defensive metric across 2016-18 (as the true fulltime CF) but sure the 6 week sample this season is the one to use. 

I read the stories about how he spent the off-season talking to JD Martinez about hitting and studying with his personal team about it and thought it would unlock something. He was such a good hitter at South Carolina, he’s not a complete numpty with the bat.

JBJ is certainly putting the question of “just how bad does he have to be offensively before his glove no longer makes up for it” to the test but when you see a play like this you feel like it buys him at least another week in the starting lineup
