Thank you, will not buy

Hard pass. I hate the weapon breakage system. The crafting system will not curb my annoyance for it. I hate having to save my best weapons for bosses.

Welp, at least I know to pass on this game. It wasn’t the worst part of BOTW but combine that with the other unnecessarily tedious elements and that game quickly became awful. Since I paid full price for it, I ended up using glitches to skip the mind numbing grind just to “hate finish” the game.

Well I'm sure it'll be a fine game all the same. Passing on this entry as well.

Like it, or like games that have it?

I’d bet BotW would have been just as liked without it.

At least I know not to waste my time and money on it this time. I tried so hard to get into BotW, but I’m not even going to bother this time around.

I’m sure this game will please the minecraft fans, but it showed too little of Zelda’s DNA to get me hyped personally.
That and I really dislike the weapon breaking system. If they insist that it should be there they should at least allow you to repair broken weapons (especially late game) as grinding isn’t fun at all.

It frustrated me to the point where I had to pause this game for weeks at a time. At the very least, they should allow you to repair them. And fix the absolutely horrendous UI that makes for weapon swapping.

Weapon breakage has never been a good concept in any game, ever. There are plenty of reasons developers and player say they like them, but never a good one.

Of course, we knew this would be in TotK, so no surprise, but it will still be the worst part of the game.

Welp, guess I won’t play it until a mod is out. Bummer.

what a dumb system where you can smith and upgrade it but still breaks.

eh, it needed some tweaks, and the fusion systems seems like the right fix. Wonder how far you can take it with proper weapons instead of branches and stuff.

Farming does not bring me joy. That’s what weapon drops were in BotW. Grinding for consumables feels the opposite of earned. It quickly becomes a mindless time sink.

this and i very much disliked how rain made everything get coated in what I can only assume is a slippery substance that isn’t made of water

Yup, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Weapons Break Just Like BOTW

I still dont understand why this is a game concept in the first place.

Neat. Now I know to never pick up a single weapon. Just pick up rocks and bash enemies over the head with them the entire game

Disabling weapon degradation should be an accessibility option. This is honestly a feature that would make me not play a game.

I just wish there was a permanent use weapons for those that don’t wanna deal with the busywork of inventory management. Just a simple 1 damage so and so. Fights would be longer and harder but at least I can just play the game instead of getting into a shrine fight that eats all my weapons leaving me to using bombs
