The whole macho “I’m tougher than my ex’s new guy!” approach is so funny to me, because it means that in your head toughness is what matters, but are then also forced to acknowledge that your ex prefers a “weakling” to you, meaning you’re worse than a weakling, meaning that by being tougher you’ve become more pathetic…

It’s possible, but I think the simpler explanation is that the movie literally summons everyone who knew who Spiderman is to the same place. Maybe the movie industry should try magicking their way to recovery.
