According to Alexa U.S. Page Ranks, a lot more people read The Root than Splinternews.  You would think that would be reversed given that The Root targets 14% of the population, but it’s not.

Man, Do I hate America right now. I have two choices, and both of them are terrible and everyone will hate me for picking either.

Inhumane = harsh or severe. A life sentence is harsh or sever. It is not torture.

Jail isn’t torture. Jail is adult time out. They are fed, clothed, and given free time. Torture is waterboarding them, pulling their finger nails out, permanent solitary confinement, or other extreme pain. I won’t accept your position that taking away someone’s freedom after doing something = torture. It simply isn’t.

Addressing the issues in society is a different topic, and I agree on that. I also agree that we should focus on rehabilitation so long as it is applied equally.
